Hello there. :) week four!

"Good literature substitutes for experience which we have not ourselves lived through." - Alexander Solzhenitsyn.

This quote means to me that whenever you haven't been through something in your life, it lets you live through words, and pictures in your mind about the book. Good, or bad things. It also lets you live the characters life, and everything that she has been through. Like I think it would be awesome to go sky diving, and I really want too. So to feel like I really was, I would maybe read a book about it. :)
This quote relates to The Secret Garden, the last book I read, by letting me know how it feels whenever your parents die. That your just left alone, dropped with an uncle you never met. It puts me in her shoes.

The Secret Garden...

Heyy guys. To sum up the book, The Secret Garden, it's about Mary Lenox, a bad tempered little girl who always gets things handed to her. Until her parents die and she is sent away to live with her uncle in a 100 roomed mansion with some things she will discover. Whenever she goes there she hears about a secret garden that she really wants to find. It's Mistress Cravens garden, whenever she died she hid the key beneath the earth. She tries to search for the secret garden and she becomes less sickly. She meets Ben who is a gardener, and a red robin. A lot happens throughout the book, but in the end they find the secret garden and spend everyday of the summer in it. It's a good book, but does get boring in some parts... :) thanks for reading. I'm looking forward to getting a new book!

A few songs that remind me of the book, "The Secret Garden" is Outside Looking In by Jordan Pruitt. This song reminds me of the book because it has to deal with her not knowing anyone, and thats how I feel about the book, she doesn't know anyone because all her family died, and she moved away. Also, The In Crowd by Mitchel Musso. This is for the same reason. Another song is I've Got Friends In Low Places by Garth Brooks. I think this song would go good with the book because she met Ben Weatherstaff whenever she thought she wouldn't meet any friends. Another song that reminds me of this book is Runaway by Cartel. It talks about someone who always hides there face. The last song that remindes me of this book is Moment of Truth by FM Static. That song would be good for the soundtrack because its about losing someone, and remembering them. Thats how I feel Mary is, she didn't really know her mom or dad, but she still lost them.

In this quote, I think the speaker means that literature basically brightens up life. If there was no literature life wouldn't be as full. It adds to life in general, makes everything better. It makes our lives better than they already are.

This quote relates to the book I'm reading by putting me in Mary's shoes. Everyone thinks she is ugly with her thin face and body, and thin light hair. Her mom and dad got really sick, and died. I think reading makes you feel how it is in someones shoes.

Hello everyone. The book I chose was Pride And Prejudice by Jane Austen. I chose this book because it looks like a really good read, and I think it would make me laugh. Its also romantic.(: This book will challenge me because it seems like there are alot of odd words. But on those words, in the bottom of the book there are deffinitions.
